After the Christmas rains, the lotus dam is now quite full. Lotus buds
are coming up. I can count maybe 12. They grow seem to rise up quite
quickly but take a few days to open. Colour: white with pink tips.
I am told that the variety is either Himalayan or Kashmiri.
It is hard to get to the flowers because the water is quite deep and
the bottom muddy. Some sort of a raft is required. A number of water
hens live in the dam.
