became clear that the farm hasn't got enough water storage.
It was clear that the lotus dam had completely silted up
and needed to be cleaned and enlarged. There was an incredible
amount of jet-black lotus slit that we carefully put back
into the enlarged dam. I planted two palms on the island
(majestic and fan), several lilies, a frangipani, a Mexican
Tree fern and some geraniums. I used some lotus silt as compost
as well as our own compost. I mulched with hay. So far the
plants look healthy even though the weather was been hot
and dry.
