SOME OF RUDOLF SETINER'S FAMOUS BLACKBOARD DRAWINGS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| During
lectures Steiner illustrated his points by peculiar drawings now
generally referred to as 'Thew Blackboard Drawings'. Black sheets
of paper were placed over the blackboard and he drew on this paper.
More than a thousand of such drawings still exist. They combine expressive
lines, lively colour, images and text. These works have retained
a freshness and arresting spontaneity, qualities totally lacking
in Steiner's other surviving art efforts which in today's eye seem
fairly derivative. Click on the images to open a larger version in a new window. |
