| This first volume in the Complete Works of Tchaikovsky contains his piano pieces Opuses 1-9. This edition is based on the autograph manuscript and/or first editions of the works. Other editions have also been consulted, whenever justified. Obvious slips of the pen and printing errors have been tacitly corrected while other editorial additions, which have been reduced to a minimum, appear in square brackets.
