Lotus Cycle

Every year the heart-shaped Lotus Lake cycles through the seasons. In spring the first leaves appear followed by a prolific flowering period that lasts till March. In autumn the leaves turn brown and as we move into winter only a few stalks remain above the water surface.

Pecan Orchards

We are fortunate to have two pecan orchards on Aracaria. The 120 trees are nearly 10 years old. All trees are doing well. Those on the flat areas are now up to 15 meters high. The 2006 harvest was outstanding. The 2007 season, having been much drier that the previous year, was not as rich but the trees looked spectacular nonetheless.

Gardens

There are many gardens, orchards and plantations on Aracaria. The pecans and lemon myrtle's and some of the mangoes were already here when we started in 2002. Since then we have established new garden areas, orchards and many plant-outs.
