Activities of the Month
Maybe some people think
farming life is as easy as a ride on a bicycle or a
pleasurable as a beach-walk on a sunny day. Sure,
there are satisfying and enjoyable moments. However,
most times our work is demanding, physically
exhausting and seemingly endless.

Produce that we grow
We are growing an ever
increasing range of produce. Our emphasis is on
exceptional quality and not so much on quantity. Some
of our produce is sold at organic farmer’s
markets.

Animals
Apart from our own cows
there are many wild creatures living on Aracaria.
They include wallabies, echidnas, parrots, many
different snakes, lizards, a large variety of birds,
rats, mice, bandicoots and an infinite variety of
small insects. We have planted many hedges that
provide habitat and shelter for small birds such as
finches and wagtails. During the first 5 years we
have noticed a marked increase in animal life on this
land.

Woofers
'Willing Workers On
Organic Farms' (wwoof-ers) are welcome on Aracaria.
We have had such helpers from many countries
including Japan, Canada, Germany, England, France and
of course Australia. We prefer those who are
interested in agriculture and want to learn about
biodynamics. The accommodation is pleasant and
simple. Woofers need to be signed up members of the
WOOF organization.
